Detection Method:Sandwich
Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PIK3C2A in samples. An antibody specific for PIK3C2A has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPIK3C2A present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PIK3C2A is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PIK3C2A bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview:The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) family. PI3-kinases play roles in signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation, cell survival, cell migration, and intracellular protein trafficking. This protein contains a lipid kinase catalytic domain as well as a C-terminal C2 domain, a characteristic of class II PI3-kinases. C2 domains act as calcium-dependent phospholipid binding motifs that mediate translocation of proteins to membranes, and may also mediate protein-protein interactions. The PI3-kinase activity of this protein is not sensitive to nanomolar levels of the inhibitor wortmannin. This protein was shown to be able to be activated by insulin and may be involved in integrin-dependent signaling.
