Detection Method:Sandwich
Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate LTBP3 in samples. An antibody specific for LTBP3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyLTBP3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for LTBP3 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of LTBP3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview:LTBP2 belongs to the family of latent transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta binding proteins (LTBP), which are extracellular matrix proteins with multi-domain structure. This protein is the largest member of the LTBP family possessing unique regions and with most similarity to the fibrillins. It has thus been suggested that it may have multiple functions: as a member of the TGF-beta latent complex, as a structural component of microfibrils, and a role in cell adhesion.LTBP2 has approximately 45% amino acid identity to LTBP1 and 25% identity to fibrillin-1 (FBN1) but unlike other LTBP family members does not bind to latent forms of TGFB. The C-terminal region of LTBP2 competes with LTBP1 for specific binding to the N-terminal region of FBN1, but not FBN2 , in microfibrils.
