Detection Method:Sandwich
Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate E in samples. An antibody specific for E has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyE present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for E is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of E bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview:Estrogen?(American English) or?oestrogen?(British English) is the primary?female?sex hormone. It is responsible for the development and regulation of the female?reproductive system?and?secondary sex characteristics.?Estrogen?may also refer to any substance, natural or synthetic, that mimics the effects of the natural?hormone.?The?steroid?17β-estradiol?is the most potent and prevalent?endogenousestrogen, although several?metabolites?of estradiol also have?estrogenic?hormonal activity. Synthetic estrogens are used as part of some?oral contraceptives, in?estrogen replacement therapy?forpostmenopausal?women, and in?hormone replacement therapy?for?trans women.
