Detection Method:Sandwich
Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IL8RB in samples. An antibody specific for IL8RB has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyIL8RB present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IL8RB is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL8RB bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

This protein is a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8). It binds to IL8 with high affinity, and transduces the signal through a G-protein activated second messenger system. This receptor also binds to chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 1 (CXCL1/MGSA), a protein with melanoma growth stimulating activity, and has been shown to be a major component required for serum-dependent melanoma cell growth. In addition, it binds ligands CXCL2, CXCL3, and CXCL5.
