Detection Method:Sandwich
Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate HAND1 in samples. An antibody specific for HAND1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyHAND1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for HAND1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of HAND1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview:Heart- and neural crest derivatives-expressed protein 1 is protein belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors. This gene product is one of two closely related family members, the HAND proteins, which are asymmetrically expressed in the developing ventricular chambers and play an essential role in cardiac morphogenesis. Working in a complementary fashion, they function in the formation of the right ventricle and aortic arch arteries, implicating them as mediators of congenital heart disease. In addition, it has been suggested that this transcription factor may be required for early trophoblast differentiation.Plays an essential role in early trophoblast differentiation and in cardiac morphogenesis. In the adult, could be required for ongoing expression of cardiac-specific genes.
