Detection Method:Sandwich
Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate FNBP1 in samples. An antibody specific for FNBP1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyFNBP1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for FNBP1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of FNBP1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview:Formin-binding protein 1 is a member of the formin-binding-protein family. The protein contains an N-terminal Fer/Cdc42-interacting protein 4 (CIP4) homology (FCH) domain followed by a coiled-coil domain, a proline-rich motif, a second coiled-coil domain, a Rho family protein-binding domain (RBD), and a C-terminal SH3 domain. This protein binds sorting nexin 2 (SNX2), tankyrase (TNKS), and dynamin; an interaction between this protein and formin has not been demonstrated yet in human. Very highly expressed in the epithelial cells of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory, reproductive and urinary systems. Also highly expressed in brown adipose tissue, cardiomyocytes, enteric ganglia and glucagon producing cells of the pancreas. Expressed in germ cells of the testis and all regions of the brain.
